Support for Young Artists in Residencies Across Europe

Matthias

The programme is called Culture moves Europe. It supports the individual mobility of arts and culture professionals who wish to go to another European country to work with another partner or organisation. Your project must fulfil two of the following criteria:

×        To explore: to conduct creative and artistic research, to investigate, inspire and work on a specific theme or a new concept.

×        To create: to engage in a creative process seeking to produce a new piece of artistic/cultural work

×        To learn: to enhance the participants’ competences and skills through non-formal learning or collaboration with a specialist.

×        To connect: to develop a professional network, to strenghten the participants’ professional development, to engage with new audiences.

For individual mobility, funding is available for individuals travelling between 7 and 40 days and for groups of up to 5 people travelling for up to 14 days. Furthermore, emerging or established artists, creatives and cultural professionals working in one or more areas of the Creative Europe CULTURE programme are eligible to apply. The areas include the following sectors: music, literature, architecture, performing arts, visual arts, cultural heritage, design and fashion design.

The funding covers travel expenses and per diems. Please note: As the current call period ends at the end of November and it is not yet clear exactly how the programme will be implemented in the new year, the following applies:

„The earliest start of travel and project implementation is 60 days from the monthly deadline and not before the Culture Moves Europe team receives the signed grant agreement from the selected applicant. All projects must be finalised no later than 30 April 2025. Grantees must submit the activity report up to one month after finishing the project’s implementation.“

And further transparency is provided:
„The selection of projects is divided into three duration categories and estimated as follows:
Approximately 70% for short-term projects (7 to 14 days)
Approximately 23% for medium-term projects (15 to 21 days)
Approximately 7% for long-term projects (22 to 40 days)“

In the call document, which is very clear and easy to understand, you will find all the information on the funding area. The call period runs until 30 November 2020 and applications can be submitted on a monthly basis. In addition to the call document, you will find all the information you need to prepare your application here. Applications can be submitted via the Goethe Application Portal and the template for the application form can be viewed here.
